The Martin OM Mikael Åkerfeldt Limited-Edition Acoustic Guitar, available at Sadek Music, fuses metal attitude with Martin craftsmanship. Created in collaboration with Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt, this unique signature model features a torrefied spruce top, a three-piece Guatemalan rosewood back, and an East Indian rosewood wedge, offering a dramatic visual and tonal presence. Designed for playability, it’s the first traditional Martin with a Low Profile Velocity neck, combining the speed and feel of an electric guitar with a full 25.4” scale length. The ebony fingerboard, inlaid with black mother-of-pearl Roman numerals, adds a shadowy, personal touch, while VTS-treated spruce and Golden Era scalloped X-bracing provide vintage warmth, responsiveness, and exceptional clarity.

Black Liquidmetal® bridge pins, flamed maple binding, and bold herringbone trim complete its striking aesthetics. Limited to just 74 guitars, each comes with a custom stainless-steel label and Harptone case, making this acoustic a rare collector’s piece and a bold statement of metal-inspired artistry. Discover the Martin OM Mikael Åkerfeldt Limited-Edition Acoustic at Sadek Music — where premium craftsmanship meets progressive metal innovation.

Frequently asked questions

Steel strings, usually phosphor bronze or 80/20 bronze. Lighter gauges are easier on the fingers; heavier gauges give a fuller sound but need more finger pressure. Do not put steel strings on a classical (nylon-string) guitar.

An acoustic-electric guitar has a built-in pickup and preamp so it can be plugged into an amplifier or PA system; a purely acoustic guitar has no electronics. Check the Specification tab of this product for its electronics.
