True to their name, D’Addario Gypsy Jazz strings were designed to suit the needs of gypsy jazz guitar players in an era before amplification. Made by John D’Addario Sr. for legendary luthier Mario Maccaferri, Gypsy Jazz strings embody the authentic tone and feel of acoustic jazz. Constructed with a high-carbon steel core and silver-plated copper wrap wire, this set delivers the beautifully warm, percussive, and projecting tone heard in the recordings of Django Reinhardt and other acoustic jazz ensembles. The 11–45 Medium Loop End set is designed for acoustic guitars that use loop-end strings and provides slightly more tension than light-gauge strings, making it an excellent choice for players looking for a fuller response and enhanced projection. Available at Sadek Music, these strings are ideal for guitarists seeking an authentic gypsy jazz tone with traditional warmth, clarity, and acoustic character.

Frequently asked questions

Classical and flamenco guitars need nylon strings; acoustic guitars need steel acoustic sets (bronze or phosphor bronze); electric guitars need electric sets (nickel or steel); bass guitars, ukuleles, violins and ouds each need their own sets. If you are not sure, send us your instrument model on WhatsApp at +971 55 351 5764.

Gauge is the thickness of the strings, usually given in thousandths of an inch (for example 10-46). Lighter gauges are easier to play and bend; heavier gauges give a fuller sound and more tension.

It depends on how much you play. Change them when they sound dull, feel rough or corroded, or no longer stay in tune; players who practise daily often change strings every few weeks.
