Epiphone’s long partnership with Les Paul began in 1940, when he built one of the world’s first solidbody electric guitars—nicknamed “The Log”—at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. 

This design would inspire what many consider the greatest electric guitar ever made. The Les Paul Standard 50s features a mahogany body with a maple cap, producing rich midrange tones with a touch of brightness from the maple. Its mahogany neck with a 1959 Rounded Medium C-profile and long neck tenon ensures exceptional stability and sustain. 

The rosewood fingerboard has pearloid trapezoid inlays and 22 medium jumbo frets for smooth playability. The Kalamazoo-style headstock includes Epiphone Vintage Deluxe tuners and a Graph Tech® nut for solid tuning stability. Strings pass over an Epiphone LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and are anchored by a LockTone Stop Bar tailpiece. Tonally, a pair of Epiphone ProBucker™ humbuckers—ProBucker 1 in the neck and a hotter ProBucker 2 in the bridge—deliver balanced vintage-inspired tones. Controls feature CTS® pots, 50s-style wiring, and gold Top Hat knobs with dial pointers.
