Gibson J-45 Special Acoustic Electric Guitar - Vintage Sunburst (PRE ORDER)

Sadek Music, the Gibson J-45 Special brings you world-class craftsmanship and legendary tone at a more accessible price point. Crafted in Bozeman, Montana, to the same exacting standards as Gibson’s top-of-the-line acoustics, this exceptional six-string starts with the same tonewood foundation as the original J-45 — a solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing paired with mahogany back and sides. The J-45 Special features a slightly reduced body depth for a more balanced and mix-friendly take on the classic warm, dry, and genre-defying thump. Players of all styles will appreciate the fast-playing SlimTaper utile neck topped with a Gibson-standard 12-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard adorned with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. Stage-ready with LR Baggs electronics and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, this model also boasts high-end appointments like a rosewood belly bridge and a self-lubricating TUSQ nut and saddle. Wrapped in an ultra-light nitrocellulose lacquer finish, the J-45 Special offers Gibson’s iconic tone, feel, and style — all within reach at Sadek Music.

Built in Bozeman with traditional J-45 tonewoods

Gibson’s J-45 has long been revered by pickers of all styles for its dry, deep, and thumping tone, and this J-45 Special perfectly captures those qualities with its traditional spruce-topped mahogany construction. This tonewood pair has remained the standard for the J-45 since 1942, and the J-45 Special pays tribute to its vintage predecessor with its solid spruce top and scalloped X-bracing — features that unlock touch-sensitive responsiveness and a round, sweet character. Next, solid mahogany forms the back and sides, rounding out your sound with rich warmth and crisp clarity. Simply put, the Gibson J-45 Special puts what is arguably Gibson’s most iconic tonewood pair in your hands.

Accessible iterations of Gibson’s legendary models

Exclusively available at Sadek Music, the Gibson J-45 Special stands out with unique features that elevate its legendary tone and playability. The J-45 Special sports an ultra-thin satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, unlike the gloss finishes typical of Gibson Acoustic’s standard lineup. This isn’t just about looks — many discerning players prefer satin finishes for their thinner, more responsive coatings that let the wood breathe and resonate more freely. Additionally, the J-45 Special features a slightly reduced concert body depth, which tightens the bass response and allows its rich voice to fit perfectly in any mix, whether on stage or in the studio. Sadek Music is proud to offer this refined take on an acoustic icon, crafted for today’s musicians seeking classic tone with modern sensibility.

Gibson’s steel-string workhorse

At Sadek Music, we celebrate the rich heritage of the Gibson J-45, an acoustic workhorse that debuted in 1942 amid one of America’s most challenging eras. Born just after the Great Depression and during World War II, the J-45 was designed as an affordable, reliable guitar that prioritized outstanding acoustic performance over ornamental aesthetics, making it accessible to working musicians.

Over the decades, this rugged, no-nonsense guitar earned a place in the hands of countless country, rock, and pop legends, shaping the sound of popular music with its signature dry, thumping drawl. Discover this timeless classic today at Sadek Music and join the legacy of musicians who have made the J-45 an icon.
