The Performance Series drum's HVX shells blend horizontal, vertical, and diagonal plies of hand-selected North American hard rock maple (eight in total), and are voiced to give you solid low mids with a ton of punch and articulation. You'll find that these drums offer resonance and projection that is perfect for live performance.

But the shells aren't the only new touches on the Performance Series drums, as DW graced these shells with a new look, courtesy of scaled-down versions of DW's trademark turret lug. Also onboard is DW's STM (Suspension Tom Mounts) system. STM allows your drums to vibrate freely without the typical choking found in typical tom mount systems. You will get better resonance and tone with DW Performance Series drums and the STM system.
