Gibson L-00 Special Acoustic-Electric Guitar - Vintage Sunburst (PRE ORDER)

Sadek Music, the Gibson Acoustic L-00 Special delivers the iconic small-body tone and feel that has defined the L-00 for nearly a century. Sporting a smooth satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, this compact powerhouse captures the bluesy sound and exceptional fingerpicking performance that made the L-00 famous. A solid spruce top with scalloped X-bracing pairs with mahogany back and sides to produce the dry, punchy, and perfectly balanced tone that has become its sonic hallmark. Whether you're playing blues, folk, country, or any fingerstyle technique, the L-00 Special excels across genres. For stage-ready performance, it comes equipped with LR Baggs electronics and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. High-end features like a rosewood belly bridge and self-lubricating TUSQ nut and saddle complete this exceptional instrument. Sadek Music is proud to offer the Gibson Acoustic L-00 Special — a timeless classic reimagined for today’s players.

Built in Bozeman with traditional L-00 tonewoods

Sadek Music, the Gibson Acoustic L-00 Special proudly showcases the classic tonewood pairing that has defined this legendary small-body guitar. Throughout its rich history, the L-00 has been crafted with a variety of tonewoods, from spruce and maple to birch and mahogany. The L-00 Special features what many consider the most archetypal combination: a solid spruce top with scalloped X-bracing, paired with solid mahogany back and sides.

Together with its tight waist and compact profile, this design produces a responsive, focused, and midrange-rich tone that's ideal for fingerpicking. Yet, the L-00 Special is equally capable when it comes to flatpicking and strumming — a testament to why the L-00 has remained Gibson’s premier small-body six-string for nearly a century. Sadek Music is proud to bring you this timeless model, crafted for today's discerning players.

Accessible iterations of Gibson’s legendary models

What makes this L-00 so special? First, the L-00 Special wears an ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish compared to the gloss finish of Gibson Acoustic’s standard lineup. In fact, this is far from a purely cosmetic appointment, as legions of discerning Sweetwater strummers champion satin finishes. Why? They’re often far thinner and more responsive than a full gloss coat. And while the rest of Gibson’s Special series of acoustics features slightly reduced body depths, the L-00 retains the same form factor that made this model a legend among blues pickers and fingerstyle fanatics.

Gibson’s small-body star for almost a century

Sadek Music, the Gibson Acoustic L-00 Special continues the proud legacy of one of Gibson’s most iconic small-body acoustics. When the original L-00 was first introduced in 1932, it was designed to provide professional-level quality at an affordable price — a crucial offering for musicians during the Great Depression. Today, the L-00 Special carries on that tradition of accessible acoustic artistry.  Perfectly suited for folk, country, and blues fingerpicking — where the L-00 has historically excelled — this model also offers a beautifully balanced tone that makes it an exceptional choice for recording artists across a wide range of musical styles. Sadek Music is proud to offer the Gibson Acoustic L-00 Special — a timeless instrument for today’s players.
