Sadek Music presents the Gibson Falcon 20 12-Watt 1x12 Combo Amplifier – a modern reimagining of a tube classic. Returning to the spotlight after more than half a century, the Gibson Falcon 20 blends the best of vintage design with modern innovation. Crafted with input from Randall Smith and Mesa/Boogie’s hand-wiring experts in Petaluma, California, every unit preserves the gritty magic of the original Falcon. This combo amp features single-channel operation, an old-school Class A push-pull design, and a cathode-biased power section for authentic tube tone. The 3-position power scaling and enhanced tone-shaping controls add a modern edge, while the fully tube-powered spring reverb and tremolo sections deliver classic vibes. Housed in a period-inspired cabinet, the Falcon 20 achieves the rare feat of improving upon a time-honored classic while perfectly maintaining its original charm — ideal for home, studio, or stage performance.
Sadek Music presents the Gibson Falcon 20 – new feathers for an old classic.
Envisioned by legendary amplifier guru Randall Smith and the Mesa/Boogie design team, Gibson’s latest Falcon amps take a few thoughtful detours under the hood to better suit modern guitarists. Vintage-amp enthusiasts can rest easy — the Class A push-pull design, cathode-biased operation, and single-channel signal path remain true to Gibson’s historic amplifier heritage.
Unlike the original GA-19RVT’s unusual tube configuration, this forward-thinking Falcon features four 12AX7 preamp tubes and dual 6V6 power tubes, delivering a warm, full-bodied punch of vintage-inspired tone that arguably improves upon the original — without relying on rare, out-of-production tubes.
Tube-driven tremolo and reverb
Another famous amplifier manufacturer may get all the glory when it comes to the splashy legacy of spring reverb. However, we’ll let you in on a little-known fact: Gibson’s original GA-19RVT Falcon was one of the first amplifiers to brandish built-in reverb years before the competition in 1961. Naturally, Gibson’s modern Falcon 20 mirrors the original, with a lush-sounding spring reverb circuit and a deep, swampy tremolo, each with dedicated footswitch functions. And yes, much to the pleasure of vintage-obsessed guitarists, the reverb and tremolo sections are true tube-driven circuits!
Sadek Music presents the Gibson Falcon 20 – versatile power-scaling for modern playability
More than just a reissue of the original, the Gibson Falcon 20 offers modern upgrades that enhance utility while preserving its classic vibe. A standout feature is the 3-position power-scaling section: Full (12 watts), Half (5 watts), and Low (1 watt).
Its Class A power section with two 6V6 tubes delivers a surprisingly robust roar before saturating, making the 5-watt and 1-watt settings perfect for guitarists seeking sweet preamp grit and growling power-amp overdrive without overwhelming volume.
