Celebrating one of the last of the true blues legends, Epiphone presents the B.B. King Lucille. This handsome semi-hollowbody is based on the classic axe Mr. King dubbed “Lucille” and played for decades, all the way up until his passing in 2015. The Lucille features a 5-ply layered maple body and top for punchy, full tone. A maple neck with ebony fingerboard delivers incredibly smooth response and wonderful playability. An Epiphone LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge provides wonderful sustain and tuning support to this stunner. Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers serve up sweet blues tone

B.B. King was known for his immaculate tone. The two Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers in the Lucille let you dial in that classic tone as well as explore your own. These Alnico V magnet pickups are potted and evenly wired for beefy, hum-free output. In addition, two volume controls, two tone controls, and a 6-position Varitone switch equip you with a massive array of sonic options. The Varitone switch is a vintage throwback to the original ES-355s from the late ’50s. It lets you filter and scoop your mids with each position switch, as well as dial up really cool throwback tones from the golden age of rock and blues.

Detailed, vintage appointments

The B.B. King Lucille semi-hollowbody has many detailed appointments inspired by the various Gibson ESTM models Mr. King played throughout his career. To start, there are no F-holes on its top, a feature Mr. King preferred as he felt it kept feedback at bay. Gold hardware is found all over this beauty, from headstock to bridge and all points in between. Pearloid block inlays along the ebony fingerboard also lend a ton of classic stage-ready presentation to Lucille. There’s even a brass truss rod cover with B.B. King’s name engraved on it and a mother-of-pearl Lucille inlay on the headstock face! And here , we love the gold Grover Rotomatic tuners with keystone buttons that not only provide rock-solid tuning but tons of classic visual vibe.
