Classic SG design

The SG Standard's mahogany body features a thinner, more contoured shape than its predecessor, the Les Paul. Moreover, it has a double cutaway for easier upper-fret access and a long-tenon 19th-fret neck joint. The SG Standard retains a bound Indian rosewood fingerboard, acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays, and a mother-of-pearl headstock inlay. An aluminum Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, aluminum stopbar tailpiece, and Grover Rotomatic tuners with kidney buttons round out this axe's hardware. Finally, a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish puts the perfect, spotlight-stealing visual touches on the SG Standard.

Unleashes patented PAF tone

Gibson voiced the pickups on the SG Standard for tonal characteristics similar to classic late-period PAF humbuckers, but with a slight increase in the upper mids for a more contemporary sound.
