The Taylor Custom Catch series is starting a new tradition: unique one-off guitars made with only the finest cuts of hardwood, premium binding, and top-notch hardware. These guitars are revealed each year at the NAMM trade show, and each Custom Catch is numbered for authenticity and available for only a limited time. Custom Catch #41 is a stunning acoustic-electric powerhouse with an all-mahogany construction, a Grand Auditorium body (with Venetian cutaway), ES2 electronics, cocobolo hardwood binding, and an ebony fingerboard (responsibly sourced from Western Africa by Crelicam) with rare Ascension inlays. Custom Catch #41 is limited to just 30 guitars worldwide . 

Meaty mahogany

Custom Catch #41 features bold all-mahogany construction with back, sides, top, and even a neck made from the finest cuts of this classic tonewood. Expect round and full tone with exceptional definition and dynamic response to your playing. Guitarists find this all-mahogany build has a slightly darker more vintage sound than a typical spruce top Taylor guitar. It still delivers the signature treble sparkle that Taylors are known for, but with more distinct midrange punch when played hard and a tendency to mellow out quickly when played gently.

Balanced Grand Auditorium shape

The Grand Auditorium shape is built for pros who want to hop from style to style quickly without switching guitars! One of Taylor’s iconic guitar shapes, the Grand Auditorium’s comfortable low profile is outsized by its strong voice and projection. It's balanced across lows, mids, and highs, and players who favor transparent-sounding guitars will love Custom Catch #41’s crisp and warm fingerpicking response that darkens up when flatpicking or strumming with force. What’s more, for better access to upper frets, #41 also features Taylor’s signature Venetian cutaway.

Expression System 2 electronics

With built-in ES2 electronics, Custom Catch #41 is ready for the stage! The ES2 system features a revolutionary segmented pickup located behind the bridge saddle; this pickup position delivers remarkably accurate and clear sound production that’s authentic to your playing. Each ES2 system features a handy master volume knob for fast level adjustments, in addition to a 2-band EQ for independent treble/bass adjustments to get the sound you need. Plus, the ES2 system also has a built-in phase switch, which offers essential feedback suppression whenever the system is active.
